We exist to display God's glory, declare God's truth, delight in God's Son, and disciple God's people

Education

I graduated from Grandville High School, finished two years at Grand Valley State University and, after getting married, transferred to Eastern Michigan University where I graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Accounting.

Family

I have been married to my husband Tim for 15 years, a journey mixed with plenty of good times, bad times, lots of sanctification and lots of love, all a blessing from the Lord. We have two children, Sophia and Joshua. My description of marriage applies quite well to the job of being parents as well.

Career

I worked at UofM in financial reporting until my husband finished dental school after which we moved back to the Northeast side of Grand Rapids and started our family. I have been home ever since, filling my time the last few years with running events at my kid’s school, being on the PTO Board and of course being home manager, wife and mom. I am excited to fill my extra time now with helping our TES campus to run smoothly.

Hobbies

We love being active as a family – bike rides, walks, hikes, paddle-boarding, camping. We hike up mountains in Colorado every summer and spend plenty of time at Lake Michigan soaking up the sun and waves.

Favorite Books

I really enjoy a mix of genres. I read a lot of biographies of past Christians, narrative histories from all time periods, as well as theological books and an occasional fiction.

A word about Maranatha Bible Church

After both Tim and I finished college, we moved back to Grand Rapids from Ann Arbor and were looking for a church to call home. We tried three different area churches with mixed results, none of them very welcoming at the time. Our daughter was born early and in the NICU for two months where we happened to have a nurse that suggested Maranatha. We tried it soon after and the very first Sunday, we were invited to have lunch at a family’s house, who happened to become one of my dearest friends. That Sunday we went home saying, “This is it” and we never tried anywhere else. Maranatha has been home since 2006 and the people in this body are truly our family. We have become more like Christ in our personal lives, in marriage, in parenting, in friendship because of the rich teaching and shepherding God has provided here, what a blessing!

Favorite Verses

Psalm 119
Song of Solomon 8:6-7
-This happens to be our wedding verses, ones that I still particularly enjoy

6 Set me as a seal upon your heart,
as a seal upon your arm,
for love is strong as death,
jealousy is fierce as the grave.
Its flashes are flashes of fire,
the very flame of the Lord.
7 Many waters cannot quench love,
neither can floods drown it.
If a man offered for love
all the wealth of his house,
he would be utterly despised.

2 Corinthians 1:3-5
– I love how God has set up mentorship in His Church, we get to walk alongside each other and share the comfort God has abundantly lavished on us

3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.

Colossians 1:9-14

9 And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him: bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; 11 being strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy; 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
