   A.  Life In Medieval Europe
            1.  The Gospel was obscured – Ceremony & Tradition of the Roman System
.              2.  The Pope was the “Head of the World”
.                         He held all power and authority – the 7 sacraments were the ‘tap of grace’
.              3.  Christ was re-sacrificed in the Mass – transubstantiation
.              4.  Confession/Purgatory/Indulgences/Treasury of Merit/Veneration of Saints & Relics/
.                    Mary – a ‘co-Redeemer’/Bible and Services only in Latin/Councils determined ‘truth’
.              5.  Papal Schism:  Once, there were 3 ‘Popes’ at the same time
.     B.  Hus’ Position
.              The True Church was made up of only the elect
.              Christ’s Death was Completely Sufficient – Hebrews 7:27. 9:12
.     C.  Council of Constance – 1414 – dealt with 2 topics:
.               The Papal Schism and Heretics
.               The Council condemned Hus as a heretic and executed him in 1415
