.    Started well with the Lord – 1 Kings 3:3
.    Seeds of compromise – 1 Kings 3:1, 3-5

God granted what he asked for – wisdom
.    1 Kings 4:29-34, James 1:5
God also granted what he didn’t ask for – riches and honor
.    1 Kings 4:22-28
Because of his choices, Solomon’s life unravels
