We exist to display God's glory, declare God's truth, delight in God's Son, and disciple God's people

Saved To Be Holy! – Part 3

Romans 12:2

Commitments that drive the radical Christian lifestyle  2 Corinthians 3:18
The first commitments were examined in parts 12
.    A commitment to being:
.         1.  A radical sacrificer
.         2.  A devoted worshipper
.         3.  A worldly resister

Today’s message:
4.  A commitment to being a transformed thinker – Proverbs 4:23
.         .         “The battle for holiness is first a battle to flood your mind and heart with the right things, the best things, and why it’s equally a battle to avoid flooding your
.         .           mind and heart with the wrong things, the worst things. So let me ask you, when it comes to what you see, what you watch, what you read, what you ponder,
.         .           what you enjoy, what you find entertaining, what fills your mind and thrills your heart—what is your standard? What do you invite into your mind, your heart,
.         .           your life? What do you deliberately keep out? What is your standard?”   Tim Challies
A theology of the mind – Before:  Genesis 6:5, Romans 1:21-22, 1 Corinthians 2:14, 2 Corinthians 4:14, Ephesians 2:3, Colossians 1:21, Titus 1:15
                                                     After:  1 Corinthians 2:16, 2 Corinthians 4:6
.        The renewal of your life can progress no further than the renewal of your mind that directs your life.  How you think is how you eventually act.
.
2 Corinthians 10:3-5, Ephesians 4:17-24, Philippians 4:8, Colossians 3:1-2, 10, 1 Peter 1:13, 2 Peter 1:2-4, 3:14-18

Practical Implications –
Negative:  You must protect your mind.  Set a fence to filter out the ways of the world.
Positive:  Be intentionally programming your mind with biblical realities and truths.
