We exist to display God's glory, declare God's truth, delight in God's Son, and disciple God's people

A Gospel Primer for Christiansby Milton Vincent

My greatest desire for myself and for each of you in our beloved church family is that we would know Christ better, live out of His life and power, and become more and more like Him. The secret to becoming like Christ each day is not in trying harder or finding some spiritual formula. The key is in trusting Christ and walking in Him the same way you received Him (Colossians 2:6-7). Do not be deceived! You and I must daily remember Christ, His cross, and the gospel and live out of the beautiful reality of God’s grace in our lives. A Gospel Primer is a wonderful little tool that can help us to do this.

“God did not give us His gospel just so we could embrace it and be converted. Actually, He offers it to us every day as a gift that keeps on giving to us everything we need for life and godliness.” (Milton Vincent, A Gospel Primer, 5) I am realizing that remembering the gospel each day and preaching it to myself is perhaps one of the most important things I can do to really glorify God and live for Christ. But how can you and I remember and appropriate the gospel in our lives each day? What are the benefits of doing this that will motivate us to regularly go to Christ and the cross? If you will take 10 minutes and read the gospel in this book starting on page 57, you will see how encouraging and transforming remembering the grace of God in Christ can be.

“Re-preaching the gospel and then showing how it applied to life was Paul’s choice method for ministering to believers, thereby providing a divinely inspired pattern for me to follow when ministering to myself and to other believers.” (Vincent, Gospel Primer, 13) Please take the time to read this short book, especially page 57 and following and allow the truths of the gospel of Christ to daily nourish and strengthen your soul and transform your life! Read and meditate on the Scriptures at the bottom of the pages and be transformed by the renewing of your mind (Romans 12:1-2)!
